Driving times and proximity affect customer behaviour on a daily basis. Being able to accurately simulate a customer driving from point to point, a salesman driving from account to account and the catchment area an outlet lies within, enables you to make informed decisions on how to change and improve the service you offer.

Accurate drive times

Accurately simulate driving throughout the country with the easy to use Drive Time wizard in Prospex. Using up-to-date comprehensive digital road network data the wizard takes into account:

  • Nineteen different traffic speed settings
  • The type of area you are driving in
  • The time of day
  • Congestion zones
  • Type of vehicle

So, for example, built up areas decrease the driving time and dual carriageways enable you to drive faster.

Target your advertising by creating a store catchment

Use the Drive Time wizard to create a catchment area of the postcode sectors reached from your store in a given maximum time, for example a 30-minute drive. Colour code all the sectors reached in ten, 20 and 30 minutes to map the 'advertising' area around your store, banded by drive time minutes. Use this map to target your direct mail and advertising to properties within your 30-minute catchment to ensure advertising spend is not wasted on people out of reach of your store. 

Maximise account visits and minimise driving by creating sales territories from scratch

Divide up a chosen area or the whole country into naturally balanced drive time catchments by simulating driving from several locations simultaneously. Use these sales to territories to plan routes in order to maximize the number of account visits and minimise the amount of driving.

To speed up the manual process of creating catchment areas for all your outlets, use the wizard to create overlapping catchments of your whole network.

Find the quickest way to get from one place to another. Simply input the start and end location postcodes or place names and watch Prospex calculate the quickest or shortest route, how long it takes and which roads to take.
