PostView plots postcode areas.
By installing PostView in a geographic information system (GIS) such as Prospex you can configure postcode areas alongside other geographical datasets to create postcode boundaries, territories and catchments. Pretty nifty stuff, right?
What can I use PostView for?
PostView is used to create and display your own areas made up of postcodes sectors, postcode districts or postcode areas within any GIS. This means you can easily show territories, store catchments, media areas or drive time catchments for example newspaper circulation areas, radio TSAs or local authority boundaries. This can then be used for various market analysis applications from direct mail to retail planning.

Postcode geography explained
YO23 2UE: Every address in the UK has a postcode shared between, on average, 15 houses.
YO23 2: All addresses sharing the same sector code fill a geographic area defined by a postcode sector boundary (around 3000 houses).
YO23: All postcode sectors with the same district code are grouped to form a postcode district boundary.There are 3,078 districts in the UK.
YO: All postcode districts with the same area code can be grouped to form a postcode area boundary.The country is divided into 124 areas, each containing around 24 districts.
