Plan radio advertising campaigns
The Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) is funded by UK commercial radio stations. Its role is to guide national advertisers and their agencies towards effective advertising on commercial radio.
Beacon Dodsworth developed a MapVision application for the RAB website that shows web visitors all the radio stations relevant to them, free of charge. Select and map any combination of stations by:
- Station name
- RAJAR region
- Sales point
- Digital multiplex
- Place name
Saving a map as a PowerPoint slide, .jpg or .gif image file is easy, adding instant visual impact to any presentation. Roads and place names are turned on and off as the user requires.

RAJAR (Radio Joint Audience Research)
RAJAR operates the only audience measurement system for the radio industry. They contracted us to develop a MapVision application which allows radio stations to update their 'total survey areas' (TSAs), i.e. regions of the country where audience research is carried out to see who listens to what radio stations.
RAJAR mapping allows radio stations to login and edit the TSAs of their stations by selecting and deselecting areas on the map. By viewing maps online, radio stations can see what effects their changes make instantly. Once they are happy with the changes, they are confirmed and the updated maps are fed back into the online system for the other 200 users to view.
MapVision also provides useful online animation tools, such as zooming in and out of the maps. The mapping system is intuitive, making it quick to learn and easy to use.
