Beacon Dodsworth bureau mapping and analysis service

Customised mapping and analysis bureau

Beacon Dodsworth provides a customised mapping and analysis bureau service which is affordable, flexible and rapid.

Mapping offers a stimulating geographical element to your wall, presentation or website and acts as a powerful tool when analysing trends across areas.

We produce maps, reports and tables undertaking the analysis and presentation you would require from a geographic information system (GIS). Our bureau work includes:

Postcode and administrative boundary maps

We produce different kinds of maps illustrating postcode boundaries or administrative geography for all or part of the UK. Drive time map showing the postcode sectors reached in 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes

Mapping territories and drive times

Our bureau service has analysed field engineers’ workload against customer base and drive times to map the most efficient territories for each engineer so the optimum number of customers could be reached in the quickest time.

We have also created drive time maps showing the postcode sectors reached in five, ten, 15 and 20 minutes from multiple retail locations across the country. This enabled our client to send out targeted direct mail promoting their nearest store.

Demographic analysis

Using our people classification, P² People & Places, we have profiled potential dentist surgeries in relation to the type of people in the area and how long it takes to drive to the surgeries. This enabled our client to accurately estimate demand for their surgeries.

"This is great thanks. It is just what I needed. I will certainly be using your service quite a lot in the future and thanks for pulling the stops out with this."

We have also mapped 16,000 customer postcodes to illustrate where a garden centre’s main customers live and how long they drive for to visit the centre. This was then profiled against P² People & Places and Target Group Index (TGI) data to look at their core customers’ ages, lifestyles and incomes.

Mapping this information alongside a 60-minute drive time catchment surrounding the garden centre enabled the client to see who their customers are, where they live and where to find similar people to market their garden centre to.

Mapping by type

We have created maps showing the different types of businesses in East Anglia broken down by wards. Another bureau job involved mapping museums by government regions, illustrating those with free and paid for entry.

Pricing

All bureau work is unique, so prices do vary. We price work after we have discussed the details of the job with you and studied the data we need to use.

If you require maps using Census, geodemographic or third party data, we will source the data for you. Costs range from £250 for household count data to £2,250 for an annual licence of a geodemographic classification such as P² People & Places. Once you have purchased the data you can use it for as many maps and reports as required.
